How do I change my password?

Here's how to change your Onlia account password:

  1. In My Account, go to Account settings
  2. Under Change password, choose Change

You can create your new password from there.

How do I change the email address associated with my Onlia account?

You can change the email address associated with your account here:

  1. In My Account, go to Account settings.
  2. In the section that lists your personal details, including your email address, choose Change.
  3. You can change your email address from there. Easy peasy!
I can't sign in to my account. What gives?

If you're signing in for the first time:

Click here if you can’t remember the password, or follow this link if you can't remember the email address you use to sign in to your Onlia account.

Make sure you’ve confirmed your purchase with us via the email we sent you. If you have confirmed your purchase but you’re still getting a message that says your account doesn’t exist, ask us for help.

It might be us:

It’s possible that we’re doing maintenance on our website, or that it’s just being difficult. If that’s the case, we’re super sorry for the inconvenience. Please try signing in again later once we’ve got things sorted. If you’re still having trouble, please let us know and we’ll help solve the issue.

How do you keep my information private?

Any information you provide to us is encrypted and stored on a secure server. We take your privacy seriously, and we won’t sell or disclose it with anyone.

I had to set up a new account, and my email address is not being accepted.

If you're setting up a new account with Onlia, you'll need to use an email address that's different from the one used with a previous Onlia account.

How do I create an Onlia account?

When you sign up for Onlia insurance we ask you to create an account. 

You can get started with a quote here. Once you have a quote and are happy with your price and coverage options, select Checkout in the shopping cart screen. We'll ask for a few more details, including setting up an account.

How do I access My Account?

You can sign in to your account at Onlia.ca or via the Onlia Insurance app.

To sign in to My Account, click Sign in at the top of your screen and enter the email address and password that you signed up with.

In the Onlia Insurance app, tap the Insurance tab and select Sign in to get quick access to your insurance account.

I need help unblocking my account.

How do I delete my account?

You can keep your account active without an active insurance policy. However, if you really don’t want to store your personal information with us, you can contact Customer Support to delete your account.

My dealership is asking for proof of insurance.

Your Certificate of Auto Insurance lists all the coverages on your policy. This should be sufficient to pick up your vehicle from the dealership or to show to your finance, lease, or mortgage company.

You can download your Certificate of Auto Insurance in My Account or the Onlia Insurance app.

My Account:

  1. On the Dashboard, click View details on your car policy

  2. Scroll to the Policy documents section

  3. Click the Certificate of Auto Insurance to download

Onlia Insurance app:

  1. Tap the Insurance tab

  2. Select Policies

  3. Tap View details on your car policy

  4. Under Documents, tap the Certificate of Auto Insurance to download

Please note that we do not directly contact dealerships, finance, lease, or mortgage companies due to privacy and security reasons.

Where can I find my policy number?

You can find your policy number on the My Account home screen or in the Onlia Insurance app on the Insurance tab.

It’s also on your Certificate of Insurance, and if you purchased auto insurance, also on your pink slip.

How can I get an OPCF5?

An OPCF5 is included in your policy at no extra cost. You can find the OPCF5 endorsement listed in your Certificate of Auto Insurance.

You can view your coverage and access your Certificate of Auto Insurance by signing in to My Account or the Onlia Insurance app.

Where can I find my coverage limits?

Your coverage details, limits, and policy documents can be conveniently viewed in My Account.

My landlord or mortgage company is asking for proof of insurance

Your Certificate of Insurance lists all the coverages on your policy. This should be sufficient for your landlord or to show to your mortgage company.

You can download your Certificate of Insurance in My Account or in the Onlia Insurance app.

My Account:

  1. Click View details on your home policy

  2. Scroll to the Policy documents section

  3. Click the Certificate of Property Insurance to download

Onlia Insurance app:

  1. Tap the Insurance tab

  2. Select Policies

  3. Tap View details on your home policy

  4. Under Documents, tap the Certificate of Home Insurance to download

Please note that we do not directly contact landlords or mortgage companies due to privacy and security reasons.

Am I allowed to drive if I haven't received my pink slip yet?

Once you have confirmed your purchase through email, you’re covered from the day that you selected as the effective date. 

Until your physical pink slip shows up in the mail, you should keep a printout of your temporary pink slip (or download your digital pink slip on your phone), and a copy of the certificate of insurance with you while you drive. 

You can find both documents in My Account or the Onlia Insurance app.

My Account:

  • To download your temporary pink slip: on the Dashboard, click Get pink slip on your car policy

  • To download your Certificate of Auto Insurance: click View details on your car policy, scroll to the Policy documents section, click the Certificate of Auto Insurance

Onlia Insurance app:

  • To download your digital pink slip: tap the Insurance tab, select Policies, tap View details on your car policy, tap Add to Wallet

  • To download your Certificate of Auto Insurance: on the Policies page, tap Certificate of Auto Insurance under Documents

I lost my pink slip, can I get a new one?

Contact our Customer Support team to request new pink slips. We'll mail a new one to you. It should arrive within 5-10 days.

When do I receive my pink slip?

We'll mail you your pink slip once you’ve confirmed your policy. You should receive your pink slip within 5-10 days.

Until your actual pink slip shows up in the mail, you should keep a printout of your temporary pink slip (or download your digital pink slip on your phone), and a copy of the certificate of insurance with you while you drive. 

You can find both documents in My Account or the Onlia Insurance app.

My Account:

  • To download your temporary pink slip: on the Dashboard, click Get pink slip on your car policy
  • To download your Certificate of Auto Insurance: click View details on your car policy, scroll to the Policy documents section, and click the Certificate of Auto Insurance

Onlia Insurance app:

  • To download your digital pink slip: tap the Insurance tab, select Policies, tap View details on your car policy, and tap Add to Wallet
  • To download your Certificate of Auto Insurance: on the Policies page, tap Certificate of Auto Insurance under Documents
Where can I find my pink slip?

When you purchase a policy with us, we’ll send you your pink slip (proof of insurance) by mail.

You can add the digital pink slip to your phone via the Onlia Insurance app:

  1. Tap the Insurance tab
  2. Select Policies
  3. Tap View details on your car policy
  4. Tap Add to Wallet

You can also find a temporary copy in My Account. You will still need your official pink slip (the one we send to you by mail) in your vehicle or your digital pink slip downloaded on your phone when you’re driving. That said, we’re happy to send you more pink slips by mail if you need them.

Where can I find my digital pink slip?

You can add the digital pink slip to your phone with the Onlia Insurance app:

  1. Tap the Insurance tab
  2. Select Policies
  3. Tap View details on your car policy
  4. Tap Add to Wallet

You can also find a temporary copy in My Account if you're waiting on your physical pink slip to arrive in the mail.

I haven't received my pink slip yet.

You should receive your pink slip within 5-10 days.

If it's been over 10 days, please make sure that we have the correct address information on file in My Account:

  1. Go into the Account settings
  2. Your address is listed in the personal details section
  3. Choose Change if you need to update it.
